I'm Back!

Betcha didn't even notice I was gone!  But I was. For a week, I was on a cruise to Key West, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. It was SO fun!! Then, I spent a week in Florida. And this past week has been my resting week.  So, 3 weeks of vacation.  Now, of course, I wasn't planning on doing my nails on the cruise, so I wanted to do something that was simple so that it could come off and I wouldn't be too sad about it, but not so simple that anyone could just do it.  And I wanted it to stay awhile, so that led me to this....

I really don't know what to call this.. They're like those paint strips that have different shades of a colour..
Or ombre nails, in a way.

It was simple to do. Start with a white base, then paint at least half of your nail with the lightest shade.  After that has dried, paint on a darker shade, leaving some of the light at the top.  Finally, paint the tip with the darkest shade. Finish with two coats of top coat, and you're done!

Because I wanted my nail polish to stay on, what better than to use a glitter polish! Because we all know that glitter is a PITA to remove! So, using  5 of the Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe collection, I set off to accomplish my goals.

From pinky to thumb: Jingle Jangle over the darkest blue in the top mani, Candy Cane over Electro Candy, Beyond the Mistletoe over the darkest green in the top mani, Gingerbread over the lightest orange in the top mani, Sugarplum Fairy over China Glaze Spontaneous.

The colours on this hand were just reversed from my other hand! I actually did this on accident. I guess my subconscious is making me match!

Can you see the sparkle?

When you step outside, these colours just POP! The holo is so amazing!

Sugarplum Fairy, the purple on my thumb, was SO spectacular! I kept staring at my nails, especially my thumb! I never wanted to take it off. In fact, I only took it off after my nail broke, 3 weeks after I put it on.

And this is 3 weeks later, note the tip wear and growth. Before it broke </3

That's all for now! <3

Sweet as Candy!

A lot of things are sweet. Candy, for example! But It's also SWEET when you kill a lemming.
For a loooong time, I wanted needed Deborah Lippmann's "Glitter In The Air".  But GITA is expensive. Like all other Lippmann polishes.
But Revlon came out with a dupe! yay Revlon! It's called "Whimsical".

By itself, it's very sheer. So, I decided to layer it on top of other polishes!
It really muted the brightness of the colors, and everything looked super sweet!

Two coats of "Whimsical" over China Glaze "Dress Me Up", Avon's "Orange Creamsicle" and "Loving Lavender", KleanColor "Pastel Teal", and Color Club "Electro Candy"

Direct Sunlight

It's a very spring-y mani and sure is cute!

For the other hand, I wanted it to stand out, but not be too different.
So I used the same colors in the same order and just used a different polish over it.

I used China Glaze "Luxe and Lush" from the Hunger Games collection, which is a great flakie!

Indirect sunlight gives it a sparkle!

And just to show how they compare....

Now for ALL the fingers!

On my ring finger with "Whimsical" on it, I added a coat of Essie "Shine Of The Times", however I don't like it all too much..

I think I like the purple, or the pink the best! What about you?

That's all for now!<3

The Hunger Games

So The Hunger Games trilogy has gained a lot of popularity ever since the movie came out.
But I knew about it first! And no one would listen to my recommendations.
But now everyone knows about it....

Well, China Glaze came out with a Hunger Games collex.
Which I got from my SO. Lovely!
First, the nails.

From the movie that premiered this year, Effie Trinket's reaping day nails! She's really just how I imagined her to be.  The nails Effie had were a magenta/purple colour and had a gold gradient

I hate trying to get purple accurate..

This picture is MOST colour-accurate.

Now, on my other hand my inspiration was taken from the cover of The Hunger Games.

My lines are all wonky. ):

And my thumb was the title of the book.

I actually attempted the Mockingjay design, but decided to leave it for another time.

Now for the collection!

Here we have from L to R: Harvest Moon (D9 Grains), Mahogany Magic (D7 Lumber), Foie Gras (D10 Livestock), Agro (D1Agriculture), Smoke and Ashes (D12 Mining), and Stone Cold (D2 Masonry)

The second part from L to R: Electrify (D5 Power), Hook and Line (D4 Fishing), Fast Track (D6 Transportation), Dress Me Up (D8 Textiles), Riveting (D3 Technology), Luxe and Lush (D1 Luxury)

All of these polishes are super pretty, but I think I like Agro the most!

JDM and Fixies : Part DOS

So, I split this in two.
It seemed like a lot of pictures for one post. I don't like that.
SO Here's part two, the Fixies:

This post is MUCH shorter.
A pink and yellow fixie!
Because his fixie just happens to be pink/yellow.

Like pink lemonade! Mmm yummy...

My pinky has a cog on it.
Which is basically a gear. Well, it looks like one.

Yaaay, sunny picture! (:

That's all for now<3

JDM and Fixies: Part UNO

Painting nails. A girl's hobby. Generally.
But what about guys? They like cars and stuff, right?
Well, I had a special request to do my nails on JDM and fixies. Actually, there was a mention of skating and mustaches too, but I decided against those.  In case you didn't knooooow, JDM is basically car stuff. Stands for Japanese Domestic Market. I think.  And fixies are just fixed-gear bikes. Google this stuff!
So, here's my JDM and fixie mani.

First off, the JDM hand.

"JDM baby <3"

 This is the JDM badge.

Yes, that is a Honda sign thing. 'Twas requested!

Sunny pictures always make me happy!

Part 2 up next! <3
